Andrew Stanning
Founder & CEO
Andrew Stanning has over 35 years Experience in the Professional Services Industry. He commenced his working life in a Chartered Accountant’s firm before starting his own accounting business in Crows Nest in 1999. He began with a small portfolio of clients consisting of friends and family and grew it into a leading accounting firm specialising in accounting systems, property, business, tax-accounting and wealth advisory group.
Andrew is the Founder of Northstar Accounting Group. He provides strategic advice and overall direction to the Group and Senior Management . Andrew is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia, registered Tax Agent and Self-Managed Superannuation Fund Auditor.
Andrew’s practical and pragmatic approach to business has been instrumental to the success of Northstar and he uses these skills to consult and mentor many businesses within and outside the group including the various, Self-managed Superannuation, Finance and Financial planning divisions.
Andrew has been a Property Investor and developer for over 30 years and has a keen interest in this area.
Andrew thrives on helping clients achieve their financial goals by applying his extensive business and taxation experience.
Simon Perkovich
Managing Partner
Holding a bachelor of business (Accounting) degree and being a qualified Chartered Accountant and registered tax agent, Simon Perkovich works as the Managing Partner of Northstar Accountants Pty Ltd in Sydney with fellow Partner Andrew Stanning and their team of highly dedicated Accountants. Through the years, Simon has gained extensive experience in tax planning, accounting and business advisory engagements.
In 2015, Simon became Managing Partner of Chan & Naylor North Sydney. The firm rebranded in July 2019 to Northstar Accountants. Simon is known for his ability to communicate complex tax matters so that they may be understood by clients at all levels. Prior to joining Chan & Naylor, Simon was an owner of a successful Chartered accountancy practice which was founded in 2004. Simon understands his clients’ needs because of his technical and commercial knowledge. He thrives on helping them grow and develop their personal wealth through identifying opportunities and avoiding potential risks.
Simon provides solutions and a new approach when necessary. He has assisted numerous property investors, businesses and families by implementing solid and safe strategies that include company, trust and SMSF structures that protect his clients’ assets and estate plans.
As Managing Partner of Northstar Accountants, Simon leads a team of highly skilled & service orientated accountants and support staff. Services include general accounting, tax preparation and tax advice for investors and businesses. His specialties include property and business structuring advice in order to obtain tax & asset protection benefits for his clients.
Cam Huynh – Client Manager
Cam has a commitment to quality and attention to detail. His vast experience is respected by his clients and peers alike. Cam strong believer in finding creative solutions to your problems.
Entering the small business services sector in 1991, Cam has had the pleasure of working with clients ranging from services in taxation and accounting for small individual and business clients to auditing of medium sized corporate entities and corporate superannuation funds. Cam has a Bachelor of Commerce certification and is currently undertaking the Chartered Accountants Program with the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Nancy Wang – Client Manager
“Discipline equals freedom” is her philosophy. Proactive, caring and multi-skilled, committed and always taking the initiative, she has been working in chartered firms for more than 8 years. Prior to this, Nancy had extensive experience in international project management and the tertiary education sector.
Nancy is a qualified CPA and holds a Master of Engineering. Her extensive experience and qualifications give her the broad based resources that make her an effective accountant and business adviser.

Anh Nguyen – Accountant – Northstar Super
Anh joined Northstar in March 2007 and has graduated from the Australian Catholic University with a Bachelor of Business & Bachelor of Information System.
Anh is a key member of the Northstar Super team and brings to her clients a focus on superannuation & taxation services.

Shahla Haque – Accountant
Shahla has recently graduated from the University of Southern Queensland with a Master of Professional Accounting. She joined the Northstar team in January 2007 and brings with her a dedicated approach to client service.

Linh Huynh – Northstar Super – Manager
Linh co-ordinates all aspects of the day to day administration of Northstar Super. She Graduated in December 1994 with a Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and a sub major in Law. From ‘94 through to 2002, Linh worked with a Chartered Accounting firm in all aspects of business services, tax, auditing and superannuation.
Since 2002, Linh has focused her skills on the management of Self Managed Super Funds. Linh is a dedicated member of the Northstar team who has worked closely with Andrew Stanning for over 12 years.

Grace Li – Accountant
Grace joined Northstar in 2007, on completion of a Bachelor of Commerce – Accounting at Macquarie University. She is currently undertaking CPA programmes.
While studying, Grace worked at an accountancy practice where she developed her client service skills. She is known for her very professional manner and helpful attitude.

John McCuaig – Mortgage Specialist
John has been involved in Banking & Finance for over thirty years and, in particular, mortgage broking for the last five and a half years. A highly experienced mortgage specialist with vast industry experience John has held a number of branch, operations and state management roles in main stream banking.
A total commitment to transparency and accountability ensure that Johns clients are well informed and receive advice best suited to their individual situation. He is actively involved in the industry’s peak body, the Mortgage Finance Association of Australia (MFAA), through his association with the New South Wales Loan Originators Committee and is committed to contributing to the raising of industry standards.
John is a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia is an Accredited Mortgage Consultant with the MFAA and holds individual accreditations with over twenty lenders. He is also a JP.
